The best part about working at C&S
I am fortunate enough to work with some of the brightest, most dynamic, and compassionate people I have ever met—including the candidates I connect with. The people here are wonderful.
Qualities I look for in a candidate
I look for someone who appreciates challenges as opportunities. Someone who is enthusiastic about working in a fast paced, fluid environment. Someone that enjoys developing others. Someone I’d like work next to everyday.
Question I’m asked most often
The question I get most often is, “Why do I work at C&S?” My answer is that I enjoy connecting people; the right candidate for the right opportunity. It’s very gratifying to work for a company that supports its communities and its employees.
My best advice to applicants
Always be yourself and be true to yourself. Be on time and look ‘em in the eye.
My best recruiting moment
One candidate in particular stands out. This man had experienced a great deal of personal loss in his life and I felt it was critical that he find a job. Though he was not a fit for the position he applied to, with a little legwork, research and salesmanship he landed a different position at C&S.
He has now been with us almost four years and about a year ago I received an email from him letting me know he had been promoted and wanted to thank me for believing in him.
Since the vast majority of the positions I recruit for are located in other parts of the country, I had never met this man face-to-face until recently. When I finally had the opportunity, instead of a handshake, I received a hug and “You saved my life.” Doesn’t get better than that!
