What makes C&S a great place to work?
C&S is a great place to work because of the people. Everyone is friendly and polite and always willing to help. This is part of our Vision: braggingly happy team members and having fun in the process.
What important qualities and experience do you look for in a candidate?
Candidates should always have confidence and energy, if you don’t have confidence in yourself how can we have confidence in you. My first impression of you is over the phone so it’s up to you to speak up and clearly so I know you are raring to go for an interview.
This is a fast pace environment. I look for where you have worked in the past which will tell me if you have experienced our type of environment and be matched up for a good fit.
What question are you most frequently asked?
What should I bring to the interview? You should always bring multiple copies of your resume to hand out to your interviewees, and bring your agenda, so you know exactly who you are meeting with and who to ask for when you arrive to the facility.
What’s your best advice to an applicant?
My best advice is always be prepared. This means give yourself time to get to the facility (you don’t want to be late), do the research about our company (know what we are capable of, our vision and mission), bring your resume (know who you are interviewing with) and come appropriately dressed with energy.
What have been your most satisfying or memorable moments as a recruiter?
Most satisfying moment is hearing from a Supervisor that one our college grad hires is doing a great job in our warehouse. He came to this company as part of our Operations Leader in Development program and has been very successful. Supervisors raved about him and his knowledge to understand and adapt to our processes and procedures in a short time period. He wanted to do more with the company and move to a new location. With a little work we were able to move him to his first choice location because he worked hard and demonstrated his ability to perform well.
This was a team effort with the recruiting department and the facility.
