Systems Analyst, ES3 IT WMS Systems ES3, is part of the C&S family of companies, stands for Efficient Storage, Shipping, and Selection. ES3 is a growing strategic component of the C&S supply chain network. Established in 2002, ES3 has historically served as a 3PL (third party logistics) company, managing storage and distribution for many manufacturers’ northeast mixing centers. It is the largest grocery DC in the world. All pallet handling is automated via a network of conveyors, elevators and cranes, while selection is more traditional. ES3’s unique value proposition, aside from automation, is the consolidation of multiple manufacturers into one mixing center, allowing a variety of products to travel on a single truckload sent to retailer and wholesaler DCs in the Northeast. Since late 2008, ES3 has undergone a significant expansion, adding 13 cranes to get to a total of 38, which service nearly 400,000 pallet storage positions. The company has added a more conventional warehouse space called the Flow-Through area, and there is an automated case picking installation currently under construction. Most of the recent expansion will enable ES3 to ship products directly to stores (D2S) instead of to retailer/wholesaler DCs. Under the D2S model, a wholesaler like C&S can slot and store items that are otherwise not carried by the manufacturers utilizing ES3 as a 3PL. Therefore, ES3 can effectively replace retail/wholesale DCs entirely, given the right circumstances. An automated case picking system went operational in late 2010. This expanded the total throughput capacity of ES3, and provides a very low cost-per-case solution for slotting and selection of slow-moving items. Summary: The ES3 Warehouse Management System team is seeking a System Analyst to assist with delivery and support of our systems. The intent of this role is to bridge the gap between development and warehouse personnel as a means to efficiently delivering comprehensive solutions to our customers. This is a salaried day position. There will be an on call rotation that will require some nights and weekend work to support the operations. There is a 2 week ramp up/ training period on our Software at our corporate site in Keene NH. The WMS is a custom application primarily built in Java and PL/SQL, with numerous interfaces to packaged applications such as Red Prairie, Manhattan, and Schaefer. Key measures of success are the ability to quickly acclimate to the wms systems and form strong partnerships with key warehouse counterparts. In addition, candidate’s impact should result in increased system stability, time to market, and customer satisfaction. Candidate should possess necessary skills and drive to succeed in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities. Attention to detail, a high degree of organization, and a proven track record of solid SDLC contributions are a must.
