Job Description: 

A Field Support Technician III will perform infrastructure project management and requirements analysis, and work independently and with contractors on design, implementation, and support of technology deployed throughout the warehouse enterprise.

Responsibilities: 
  • Project Management of warehouse technology initiatives and service providers. 
  • Manage roll outs and installation of technology as required for projects ranging from small to medium in size and complexity. 
  • Resolve issues and drive projects to completion. Research new technology and derive guidelines on how technology will best suite company needs.
  • Performs installation and support of highly technical systems such as; wireless networks, mobile computing and radio frequency equipment, print technology, network servers and backup systems. 
  • Handles complex analysis and technical problems requiring judgment and latitude for independent action.
  • Provides infrastructure support services as necessary. 
  • Evaluates potential business impact and prioritizes responses accordingly.
  • Initiates appropriate corrective action to mitigate negative business impact.
  • Participates in special projects in support of business initiatives (facility start-up activities and realignments), as necessary.
  • Provides Desk-Top services support as needed. 
  • Determining root cause of PC failures through technical analysis. 
  • Takes appropriate corrective action to resolve the issue.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on technology infrastructure including, wireless networks, mobile computing equipment, and wireless data. Collection of equipment, servers, and tape sub-systems.
  • Attends meetings, performs administrative functions, and upholds policy guidelines fulfilling departmental requirements.
Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma;  Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum two to five years in a related field support role.
  • Knowledge of wireless technology, PC’s, printers and other peripherals.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve highly technical issues. 
  • Confidence and ability to work in difficult spaces which may be, cold, damp below freezing, under construction or at elevation. 
  • Required to have knowledge of Networking and experience with essential equipment including servers. 
  • Project Management skills enabling the leadership of projects medium in size.
  • Preffered Certifications include CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +.
