Hammond, LA

Hammond is the largest city in the Tangipahoa Parish in Louisiana. With high accessibility to highway-rail-air-sea transportation, Hammond’s main sources of capital are from the strawberry and distribution industries. The airport serves as a back-up to the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and a major training site for the Louisiana Army National Guard. 15 miles South of Hammond is Port Manchar, which provides an outlet via Lake Ponchartrain with the Gulf of Mexico.

 

Southeastern Louisiana University, the only university that offers the state’s academic degree in supply chain management, offers entertainment to its residents from its popular football team.
